Downtown San Luis Obispo Corridor

Corridor Section
The goal for this project was to design a pedestrian corridor using SketchUp.  The corridor is located in a relatively small town, where there could be a maximum of 3 stories.  I decided to create a multi-use space with an aesthetic reminiscent of an old train depot.

The corridor was required to have at least 5 stores on either side with at least two restaurants or coffee shops.  At least two or more stories, trees, planters, benches, tables, chairs, cars, parallel parking, awnings, and people had to be included in the 3-D model.

Through this project, I learned how to use Layout, import CAD files, make 2D “Face-Me” components, create and apply materials, import textures, alter textures in PhotoShop, apply shadow and fog effects, cut sections, and create a “fly through” video.  I also learned the importance of creating an organized project with groups, layers, and simplified components.  This enables me to make changes easily and use the program more efficiently.
